HUSBAND AND WIFE AWARDED FOR THEIR PARENTING IDEALS

Mr and Mrs Alcock are awarded the Michael Smith Award for their unique approach to parenthood.

Mr and Mrs Alcock, from Derby, have been awarded the Michael Smith Award for their unique parenting skills and determination to raise free-spirited children. Mrs Alcock said “We have allowed our children to make their own decisions about things, where other parents would have not.”, this includes allowing their children to dress in whatever they choose, even if this be fancy-dress everyday for a whole year, whilst also allowing their children to direct thier own play. “Children are happiest when discovering the world for themselves”.
